Service Description
Can't make the sunrise tour? No problem. Make a custom request here. This option allows us to build a Chesapeake Bay ecotour around your schedule, interests, and the conditions that day. Whether you're traveling with young children, visiting for the weekend, interested in wildlife photography, fascinated by local history, or simply looking for a unique way to experience the Bay, we'll work with you to create a trip that fits. This isn't simply a kayak trip. It's an opportunity to experience the Chesapeake Bay through the eyes of a Licensed Captain, Virginia Certified Ecotour Guide, Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional – Shoreline, former Coastal Resilience Planner, and maritime first responder who has spent years working on and around these waters. Tour locations vary based on weather, tides, and what is happening on the Bay. We may paddle toward New Point Comfort Lighthouse, explore remote sandy beaches, visit marshes teeming with wildlife, or discover places most visitors would never find on their own. What is an ecotour? An ecotour is more than simply observing nature. It is about understanding how everything is connected. As we paddle, we'll weave together wildlife, blue crabs, oysters, fisheries, marshes, submerged aquatic vegetation, water quality, shoreline erosion, living shorelines, commercial fishing, working waterfronts, maritime history, local culture, and the coastal communities that continue to depend on these waters today. A blue crab becomes a conversation about underwater grass beds. An oyster reef becomes a discussion about water quality. A marsh becomes a lesson in fisheries and wildlife habitat. A lighthouse opens the door to stories of storms, shipwrecks, commerce, and life on the Bay generations ago. Every trip weaves together nature, culture, history, and community. The goal is not simply to paddle from one place to another, but to leave with a deeper understanding of the Chesapeake Bay than when you arrived. Kayaks, paddles, and safety equipment are provided for up to five guests. Life on the water. Shared.
