Service Description

Some of the best places on the Chesapeake Bay don't have roads leading to them. They have sandy beaches that can only be reached by water. Quiet creeks where osprey hunt overhead. Shorelines that look much the same as they did generations ago. Productive fishing spots tucked away from the crowds. Hidden corners of the Bay that most visitors never discover. Our 17' York River Skiff gives you the freedom to explore those places at your own pace. Depending on your departure location, we can recommend secluded beaches, family-friendly destinations, fishing areas, waterfront restaurants, historic landmarks, wildlife viewing opportunities, and some of our favorite places to spend a day on the water. Every launch point offers something different, and we're happy to help you make the most of your day on the water. The boat's shallow draft allows access to creeks, coves, shorelines, and other areas that larger boats often cannot reach. Powered by a reliable 9.9 horsepower outboard, this is not a speedboat. It is designed for exploring, fishing, crabbing, sightseeing, beach hopping, and enjoying the Chesapeake Bay at a relaxed pace. This vessel is not suitable for tubing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, or other tow sports. To maximize your time on the water, rentals are structured as 24-hour rentals. Guests typically meet us at the selected public boat ramp around 7:00 PM the evening before their rental day for a dockside orientation covering vessel operation, safety equipment, local conditions, and recommended destinations. The vessel is then picked up around 7:00 PM the following evening. Because the boat remains with you overnight, guests must have access to an approved private dock, marina slip, vacation rental dock, or similar location where the vessel can be safely secured. All overnight docking locations are subject to approval prior to your rental. Guests are responsible for ensuring they have permission to use the dock, that adequate water depth exists for the vessel to safely access the dock, and that the location provides suitable protection from waves, wakes, and weather conditions. The rental includes required safety equipment and a Virginia Saltwater Boat Fishing License covering anglers fishing from the vessel. Anglers age 16 and older who do not already possess a Virginia saltwater fishing license must obtain a free Virginia Fisherman Identification Program (FIP) number prior to fishing.
