17' Skiff Rental Pricing

Great for your next fishing trip, pleasure cruise, sandbar or lighthouse excursion! Backwater Expeditions LLC transports the vessel by trailer to a local boat ramp or private dock where it will be launched and ready for your adventure. Max capacity of 4 persons/800 pounds. No need to buy a fishing license, the boat has a rental boat recreational fishing license.  Features tiller steering, electric start, manual trim, a 9.9 HP outboard motor, and a max speed of 10-13 MPH. All required safety equipment is provided. General boating ability required.    ​

Town Point Landing (East River in Mathews County):

• Dockside delivery to residential or vacation rentals is available at most locations for $275.  Some locations may be subject to an additional fee or may not be available.   Call or send us a message to find out pricing for your location.

Rental Timing

• Generally, weekday rentals to public docks depart between sunrise to 7 AM and return between 5 PM and sundown. 

• Generally, delivery to private docks are made later in the evening the day before the rental, and picked up later in the evening on the day of the rental.   

Specials

• Depart from Mobjack Bay Marina for just $155, rent our 17-foot skiff weekdays departing between sunrise to 7 AM and returning between 5 PM and sundown.

• Depart from Urbanna Creek for just $175, rent our 17-foot skiff weekdays departing at 8:15 AM and returning by 4:40 PM or earlier.

Please note.  Restrictions apply.  NO HIDDEN COSTS! One tank of fuel included, that should last an entire day!  Inquire to determine if we can deliver to your dock at no extra cost, not all locations will be $275.  Backwater Expeditions LLC dockside delivery maximizes your time on the water, keeps you from having to tow a boat, or back it down a ramp.  Just step on and off from the dock.  The vessel will have all legally required safety equipment and can accommodate a max of 4 persons, with a load up to 800 pounds.  A signed boat rental agreement is required and contains additional details.

  • Have Captain Taylor, a Certified Virginia Ecotour Guide, and Licensed Captain operate the skiff and take you on a tour customized to your group.
